<p>Da, katoliki častimo svetnike kot &#8220;posrednike&#8221; med Bogom in nami. To počnemo skozi priprošnje, ko jih skozi molitve prosimo, da prosijo pri Bogu za nas (priprošnja). Ampak ali to pomeni, da so svetniki nov &#8220;srednik&#8221; med Bogom in ljudmi (poleg Jezusa Kristusa)? Nikakor ne, saj so svetniki seveda ljudje. Ljudje, ki so živeli na tem svetu in so se še posebej izkazali s svojo ponižnostjo, sedaj pa zaradi tega že živijo v nebesih. Sv. Pavel prosi svoje sovernike, da prosijo zanj pri Bogu:</p>
<blockquote><p>Molíte tudi zame, da mi bo dan govor, ko bom odpiral usta, tako da bom  neustrašeno oznanil skrivnost evangelija, za katerega opravljam poslanstvo v verigah, in  govoril o njem s srčnostjo, kakor je moja dolžnost.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.biblija.net/biblija.cgi?m=Ef++6%2C19-20"><em>Ef  6,19-20</em></a></p></blockquote>
<p>Zakaj ne bi mogli prositi tudi svetnikov, ki skupaj z živečimi na tem  svetu z onimi v nebesih tvorijo eno občestvo? Ne nazadnje je sv. Pavel tudi avtor vrstice, ki govori o Jezusu Kristusu kot edinem &#8220;posredniku&#8221; med Bogom in ljudmi. Je mogoče, da je nauk sv. Pavla res tako nekonsistenten?</p>
<p>G. Ošlak je očitno naredil logično napako. Pozabil je, da so svetniki ljudje. Sicer posebni ljudje, ampak še vedno ljudje. Enako je storil z Marijo. Podobno se je uštel pri angelih. Angele varuhe katoliki prosimo, da nas varujejo. V tem smislu jih ne častimo kot &#8220;posrednike&#8221; med Bogom in ljudmi, ampak kot bitja, ki skrbijo za naše dobro. Ne vem, kako je s češčenjem drugih angelov, ampak mislim, da se to ne dogaja, vsaj ne v smislu, kot ga opisuje g. Ošlak. Torej <strong>častilci Marije, angelov in &#8220;svetnikov&#8221; </strong>(praktično cela vesoljna Cerkev) <strong>niso satanisti</strong>.</p>
<p><span id="more-12"></span>Morda lahko še podrobneje argumentiramo, zakaj je tako.</p>
<p><a title="Catholic Encyclopedia" href="http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/">Katoliška enciklopedija</a> obravnava na temelju del Benedikta XIV ravno to pogosto zmoto, da svetniki niso ljudje ampak nekaj več:</p>
<blockquote><p>According to some writers the  origin of <!--k23-->beatification and  canonization in the <a href="http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03449a.htm">Catholic</a> <a href="http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03744a.htm">Church</a> is to   be traced back to the ancient <a href="http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/11388a.htm">pagan</a> <a href="http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/01650b.htm"><em>apotheosis</em></a>. <p>Svetniki  niso bogovi, ampak so Božji prijatelji in služabniki, ki uživajo  Njegovo posebno ljubezen:</p>

<p>Nauk Cerkve govori ravno nasprotno, kakor je sklepal g. Ošlak. Jezus Kristus je edini posrednik med nami in Bogom v smislu, da bomo po  Njem odrešeni, ni pa naš edini priprošnjik niti edini zagovornik pri  Bogu niti edini posrednik naših molitev:</p>
<blockquote><p>It is objected that the <!--3ref=u44=xxyyyk.htm-->invocation<!--k07--> of <a href="http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/04171a.htm">saints</a> is  opposed to the unique <!--3ref=u44=xxyyyk.htm-->mediatorship<!--k03--> of <a href="http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/08374c.htm">Christ Jesus</a>.
